first respond My name is Angel, I currently reside in Philadelphia, PA. I am in the military and after 20 years of service, I will be retiring from this profession. I am pursuing a bachelors in business administration with a concentration in HR. My role in the military is combat arms, I spent a lot of my time training in tactics and physical fitness. The current position I'm in is a lot different than what I'm used to. Im an ROTC instructor at one of the colleges here in Philly, so have more of developmental and instructional role.
I have a couple of rental properties and to some degree I've used tax documents or financial statements. I took an accounting course last semester and learned about financial statements and balance sheets which made me realize I was doing this for my business in some capacity. When I hear the word finance - I think of borrowing money to acquire assets, monetary transactions, and record keeping. What excites me about this course is that not only is it part of my degree but I can also gain knowledge that I can apply to my business and personal life. The labs and the projects are somewhat intimidating because I haven't taken any courses that require a lab so its something new to me. I project milestones concern me a bit because I worry that I won't be able to find or transfer the information needed for specific areas.
second respond My name is Femi Oludipe, and I am currently pursing a degree in Finance and Accounting, looking forward to graduating by the end of this year. Prior to now, I have worked in management where I have been exposed to different financial documents such as Labor reports, income statements, profit and loss accounts, inventory reports and expense report. During my work in management I use these reports for scheduling and monitoring waste, profit and loss and investigating theft.
In my personal life, I spent time to file my own taxes, understanding how the taxation system works, I am someone who loves investing in stocks and also trading the forex and futures markets. When investing in stocks I research companies financial reports to evaluate consistency and growth potentials. I love reading dividend reports especially for REITS stocks and they are a good source for residual income. When I think about finance all that comes to my mind is FREEDOM - the ability to create financial opportunities without having to sacrifice time daily for it. I am excited to be in the class due to the knowledge gap that will be closed by the end of this course both personally and professionally, and looking forward to advancing my career as a financial expert in a world that is financially struggling.
