About the Role We are building a comprehensive, structured database of secondary schools and sixth forms across London. We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Research Assistant to help us gather accurate contact information for these institutions. If you enjoy methodical research, navigating websites, and have a keen eye for detail, this role is perfect for you.
What You’ll Do You will be assigned specific London boroughs and tasked with collecting verified information for each institution: Secondary Schools Sixth Forms For each institution, you will gather: Institution Name School Type (Secondary / Sixth Form) Contact Name(s) Role (Headteacher, Deputy, Assistant Head, SLT, Pastoral, or Careers Lead) Direct, named email address Office Phone Address + Postcode City & Region Website URL All data must be entered accurately into the correct borough spreadsheet (Google Sheets).
How You’ll Work We have a clear system to keep our data clean and scalable: Search online using terms like: “[Borough Name] secondary schools” “[Borough Name] sixth forms” Visit each institution’s website. Locate staff, leadership, or contact pages. Extract real, named leadership contacts only. Enter all information into the correct borough sheet. Complete one borough fully before moving to the next. Important: No guessing, assumptions, or unrelated emails. Accuracy and consistency are key.
What We’re Looking For Strong English reading and writing skills Exceptional attention to detail Comfortable navigating UK school websites Reliable internet connection Basic experience with Google Sheets Ability to follow instructions precisely Previous research or data collection experience is a plus
Target Completion & Hours Target: Complete approximately 900–1,000 institutions (secondary schools + sixth forms across London) Typical pace: 20–25 institutions per hour Daily output: ~80–100 institutions in a 4-hour workday Total expected hours: ~37–40 hours per researcher Flexible hours — work anytime as long as progress is steady.
Payment Project-based with potential for long-term work Paid via Bank Transfer Hourly rate: £5–£8/hour (depending on experience and speed/accuracy)
