Hi - I’m Dante, a creator/preneur building a personal brand at the intersection of business principles, stoicism, and self-development. My content explores timeless wisdom and modern strategies to help people get what they want, and want the right things. Some of the thinkers I often reference include Naval Ravikant, Charlie Munger, and Elon Musk. A few YouTube creators whose style I like are Cleo Abram, Mark Manson, and Ali Abdaal.
The biggest challenge in my current workflow is finding an editor who understands the balance between what makes a video "clickable" on YouTube and what makes it timeless. My strategy on YouTube is thoughtful structuring, like front-loading the hook, then intro, then value, while avoiding shock content or cheap clickbait tactics. I’m also looking for someone who understands the subject matter I’m exploring and can create motion graphics or visual elements that genuinely complement and elevate the ideas I'm speaking about. A good benchmark for the style I’m aiming for is Cleo Abram’s channel, which strikes that balance beautifully. Beyond editing itself, I see huge additional value in collaborating with someone who can help optimize titles and thumbnails, since those are often the deciding factors in whether the audience engages with the video in the first place. My background is in video production and content creation, so I am capable and fluent in this language. This will make for much easier communication between us.
I want to build a lasting partnership with the right person. My goal is to find an editor I can grow with over the next 3+ years, someone who cares about the craft and the message as much as I do. My YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@DanteBorgese
Responsibilities - Edit 2 long-form YouTube videos per week from raw footage and short briefs. Videos are typically 10–20 minutes in length. - Edit short-form content (YouTube Shorts), mostly repurposing from long-form content (1–2 per video). - Design and integrate visual/motion elements to clearly illustrate key concepts. - Maintain a clean, thoughtful editing style that complements rather than distracts from the storytelling. - Ability to properly mix microphone audio with sound design, optimizing for YouTubes desired levels. - Work collaboratively, being willing to contribute your own ideas to elevate the final product.
Bonus - Experience using Notion is a huge plus since it’s where I organize my creative workflow. - Thumbnail design that is effective without being clickbaity. - Working in Davinci Resolve is a bonus, but not required.
Trial Task As part of the hiring process, shortlisted candidates will complete a paid trial task. This will involve editing the first 3 minutes of a video’s raw footage. This helps me see how well our styles align.
Loom Video Instead of a cover letter, please record a short Loom video (2–3 minutes). In your video, please include: - A quick intro: who you are and your background in video editing. - Why you’re interested in this role specifically. - A brief explanation of how you’d approach editing my videos. You don’t need to overproduce this. Just record on Loom or Zoom and share the link.
