I am looking for a 3D modeller who can work from some oblique 3/4 photograph of an 18th-century turret clock wreck to produce a clean, simple 3D reconstruction. The aim is not museum-grade metrology, but a tidy, scalable model and true front elevation drawing for research/illustration purposes.
Inputs I can supply: • Source images, plus a standard elevation of a similar clock • Notes explaining the clock • Key reference dimensions: o Great wheels: 32 in diameter o Corner posts (base to finial): approx. 6 ft o Frame width: approx. 9–10 ft o Corner post square sections: approx. 4 in square
Method (suggested): • Camera-match / photo-model from the best image • Trace only visible parts • Approximate occluded geometry with dashed/hidden line layer
Deliverables required: 1. 3D model in GLB (binary glTF) and OBJ (so I can open it in free software such as Windows 3D Viewer or Blender). 2. Orthographic drawings: true front elevation (no perspective), exported as PDF and SVG (easily viewable and printable). 3. Optional CAD export in DWG/DXF (for wider compatibility if needed). 4. Screenshot of the camera-matched view for reference.
Important: Outputs must be in formats viewable with standard, freely available software (no specialist paid CAD required on my side).
Assumptions: This is a best-fit reconstruction from one image, accurate within the tolerances implied by the single known dimension.
