Full-Stack Developer Needed to Build Geospatial Web App (MapLibre, Vector Tiles, Payments)
I need a developer to build a geospatial mapping web application from scratch based on a detailed technical specification (I will provide). The app will serve as a professional site selection and analysis tool.
Core Requirements:
Front-end mapping: Use MapLibre GL JS as the map engine Load and display large geospatial datasets (GeoJSON, TopoJSON, MBTiles/vector tiles)
Layers include: Plants, UK district and locks authority information, freehold land parcels, crops, utilities, environmental constraints, etc.
Interactive popups and right-side info panel with dynamic summaries (per LAD/LPA)
Layer toggles, filtering, and grouping logic
Data handling & performance:
Convert & serve large datasets (1–20GB+) efficiently as vector tiles (MBTiles/Cloud storage)
Optimise rendering for smooth performance at scale
Web platform features:
Build as a secure website (desktop + mobile responsive)
User login system (accounts & authentication)
Payment integration (Stripe or similar) for paid access tiers
Role-based access (free vs paid features)
Back-end & hosting:
Set up a scalable hosting solution (Cloudflare R2 / GCS / AWS)
APIs for user authentication and serving vector tiles
Modular, well-documented codebase for long-term maintainability
Deliverables:
Fully functional, production-ready web app with login and payments
All map layers and interactivity implemented per technical specification
Documentation on setup, deployment, and data updates

Phase 2
xperienced data scraper to extract planning data from various UK council websites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web scraping techniques, familiarity with UK council planning processes, and the ability to handle large amounts of data efficiently. You will be responsible for gathering structured information related to planning applications, decisions, and relevant documents. If you are detail-oriented and have a keen eye for accurate data collection, we would love to hear from you.
Summary We are seeking an experienced data scraper to extract council planning data from various UK local authority websites. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of web scraping techniques and data handling.
Brief: Data scraper for all UK councils.
The tool should have the following functionality
Keyword search: ability to input up to 20 keywords into the tool to search for planning proposals which include that keyword - e.g. "plant", "anaerobic", "biomethane", "waste", "development", "solar", "renewable" etc.
Date range: ability to search between date X and Y for all planning proposals submitted within that period
Council portals to search - ability to choose 1, some or all planning (over 400) councils in the UK
Documents download toggle box: ability to download (or not) all files submitted with application
I want to launch this tool as a website later.
