Expected duration: 3 - 4 weeks Hi, this is a straightforward private project to complete the design and illustration of a short children's book. An attempt was previously made to create AI illustrations for the book, which can be made available to view, and a draft narrative text is available also.
All you have to do is create the layout, typography, and re-do the illustrations using your creativity to add additional illustrations for the narrative. Then prepare the design for PDF and Print ready.
Book Details: Length: Approx. 10 pages of story text (plus front and back cover). Target Age Group: Primary audience 6–7 years old, but also suitable to be read aloud to younger children (from age 3). Format: Landscape, approx. 210 x 240mm (or similar size). Style: Cartoon / digital colour illustrations. Illustrations: Each page illustrated (full-page artwork with text incorporated). Story pacing & page breaks: Freelancer to advise and help refine.
Design Requirements: Cover design (front and back). Typography: Child-friendly, readable fonts. Layout & formatting: Integration of text and illustrations across all pages.
Final outputs required: High and low-resolution PDF (first stage). Print-ready version (second stage, once layout confirmed). Source files (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or similar) for future editing if needed.
Additional Information This is a privately printed project (not currently for commercial sale). Illustrations should be bright, engaging, and suitable for children in the stated age group. I will provide the manuscript text. I welcome creative input from the illustrator on how to visually bring the story to life. The reason for asking to re-do the AI-created illustrations attached is because of the inconsistency in the drawings of the dog and man. Therefore, I am aiming for a freelancer to create consistent likeness for all the characters.
