We are looking to develop a modern desktop application to manage our importing and distribution business. The company imports kitchenware and houseware products from China, stores them in a warehouse, and sells them to merchants. Our current software is outdated (from 2009) and causes frequent workflow issues, so we want to rebuild it with modern technology, a clean user interface, and automation to save time.
The new system should allow us to:
- Import shipment details directly from Excel files (item codes, order numbers, item names, quantities, carton details, prices).
- Manage inventory, with clear tracking of cartons, pieces, and available stock.
- Create and manage orders using a cart-style system, where items, quantities, and prices can be selected quickly.
- Generate receipts and track deliveries for each order.
- Manage client information, including outstanding balances, partial payments, and payment history.
- Produce reports such as inventory status, sales by date/client/item, and outstanding client balances.
The application must be:
- A desktop app (Windows as priority).
- Built with a modern and user-friendly UI (design quality is important).
- Easy to maintain and extend with future features.
- Delivered with full source code, build instructions, and database documentation so another developer can take over if needed.
Additional features and detailed requirements will be shared with the selected freelancer after the project is awarded.
