Responsibilities Crisis Communication & Management: - Lead proactive crisis response: detect risks early, craft messages, and coordinate responses - Develop empathetic messaging around project delays, mental health, and other realities - Monitor sentiment across itch.io, Patreon, Tumblr, and social media channels to craft ideas on how to alleviate audience’s fears and anxieties
Public Relations and Brand Marketing: - Design PR strategies that align with our values - Cultivate media and influencer relationships within indie, LGBTQIA+, and visual novel communities - Produce compelling content: press releases, blog posts, social media assets, and pitches that reflect our tone and identity - Monitor social media performance to analyze coverage and community responses - Support campaign planning around launches, funding campaigns, or Patreon milestones, ensuring consistent messaging
Ideal Experience & Skills: - At least an Associate’s degree in Public Relations or Communications - 1+ years in PR or crisis communications, ideally with experience in LGBTQIA+ communities, indie gaming, or adult-focused content - Skilled in restorative messaging, especially around transparency, mental health, and community outreach - Extremely diplomatic, emotionally intelligent, and ethically grounded - Able to act sensitively in remote and emotionally nuanced contexts, minimizing harm and building trust
