Expected duration: Ongoing We are seeking an experienced Sensitivity Reader and Consultant for an (18+) visual novel currently in development. The project involves mature themes, diverse character backgrounds, and sensitive narratives requiring careful handling and nuanced representation.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Thoroughly review visual novel scripts and character portrayals to identify potentially sensitive or problematic content. - Provide detailed, actionable feedback to ensure authenticity, sensitivity, and respectful representation. - Advise on accurate and responsible representation of themes including but not limited to gender identity, sexuality, ethnicity, mental health, relationships, trauma, and consent. - Collaborate closely with writers and creative teams to enhance narrative depth and character authenticity.
REQUIREMENTS - Minimum Age 18+ (ID verification REQUIRED) - Prior experience as a sensitivity reader, consultant, or related role. - Strong familiarity and comfort working with adult-oriented content and narratives. - Deep understanding of intersectionality and representation across various identities and experiences. - Excellent written communication and feedback skills. - Ability to provide constructive, empathetic, and actionable recommendations. - Experience with visual novels or interactive fiction. - Background or training in areas such as diversity, equity, inclusion, psychology, gender studies, or related fields.
