I seek an illustrator to skillfully translate imagery into readymade designs for various merchandise. From photographs and other source material, the selected freelancer must be able to conceptualize and draw appealing illustrations fit for apparel printing, home goods, and additional branded merchandise.
Creativity and visual storytelling ability are paramount, as the goal is to stir interest and ignite passion for the brand through dynamic and aesthetically-pleasing drawings. Applicants should demonstrate strong technical skills in figure drawing, perspective, shading and other fundamentals. Stylistically, a clean and minimal line work is preferred to leave space for the designs to clearly translate when reproduced at various sizes.
Additional requirements include the ability to efficiently iterate based on client and market feedback. Selected portraits, scenes or motifs must retain their visual impact when simplified or reimagined for different applications. The commissioned artist will work independently, but collaborate closely with brand managers to ensure the designs authentically reflect the vision and voice behind the merchandise.
Extensive experience translating real world subjects into graphic designs intended for mass production merchandising is ideal. A portfolio highlighting work for clothing, accessories, home goods or similar industries will be an asset.
