Expected duration: 1 - 2 weeks Help your child stay active and healthy this summer!
This summer, we're running a new virtual project to keep children across the UK (aged 3-11 years) active, learning, and having FUN.
Why? A few months ago, we came across a statistic that physical activity in children dropped by 53% during the Summer months, and time spent in sedentary activities (e.g. screen time) increases.
As parents ourselves, we know how challenging and stressful Summer can be when you're trying to juggle lots of different things, (work, keeping the kids entertained, keeping their tummies full every 30 mins, cleaning, keeping them off screens), and we totally get that it’s a balancing act. We’ve designed this new Active Kids Summer project to be really FUN, interactive, and you can take part whenever suits you.
But instead of just running this virtual project for 7 weeks, we also wanted to have even more impact and create a movement. So, whenever a parent signs up (the early bird rate is £25 for 7 weeks' access), we're giving £5 back to their child's school, nursery, or preschool so they can reinvest in children's health and wellbeing when the new school year starts. So, if a school has 1000 pupils and 500 parents sign up, the school would receive £2500 from us. Children can also WIN sports equipment for their school or nursery just for being active.
We're looking for x10 parents/governors who have children aged between 3-11 years who can;
1) Help us spread the word to other parents via social media (FB, instagram etc.), class WhatsApp groups, email etc. - We'll provide all the information you need to promote this (flyers, social media posts etc.). 2) Make contact with the principal/head of your child's school, share our project details, and help us facilitate a Zoom call with the head so we can take them through this new project and get all project information (flyers, social media posts, posters for school noticeboards etc) out to parents via school parenting app (i.e. SeeSaw)
All the school has to do is promote our project to parents as they would with other extra-curricular clubs, we take care of the rest!
We're looking for x10 parents/governors who are passionate about children's health & wellbeing.
We've put a placeholder amount to complete this task (1&2 above), if you have any other ideas (maybe you have a parenting blog, or you're a content creator etc.), get in touch with your ideas :-)
