We are seeking a skilled freelancer to develop Geographic Information Systems (GIS) content for our website. The content should include informative articles, tutorials, visual guides and infographics focused on introducing users to the main concepts and capabilities of GIS technology. Sample topics could cover what is GIS, why it's useful, how to perform basic mapping and analysis, data collection techniques using GPS, open-source and proprietary GIS software options. The goal is to educate users on spatial data and analysis in a simple, visual manner. The freelancer should have expert knowledge of GIS tools and applications as well as the ability to translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand learning material for non-specialists. Developed content must be thoroughly reviewed for accuracy and adhere to plain language writing standards. Maps, diagrams and other graphics should be original work or sourced with attribution. The freelancer will work independently, but may require guidance on the website's style, branding and preferred topics. An understanding of instructional design principles for online learning is preferable. The initial contract is for development of 5 articles/tutorials. Upon satisfactory completion and approval, there may be opportunity for additional work developing more advanced GIS training modules. The freelancer must have impeccable English writing skills and be able to meet agreed upon deadlines. This is a remote position with payment staged based on deliverable.
