The client utilizes Basecamp extensively for project management, collaboration and file storage across numerous groups and teams. The desired outcome is to replicate all established Basecamp groups, contents and functionality within the Google Chat platform to facilitate a transition away from software licensing expenses to use of available G Suite tools.
The specialized work entails evaluating the client's Basecamp implementation and extracting key information like group structures, files and conversation histories. It then focuses on rebuilding the virtual workspaces and workflows within Google Chat to appropriately map all essential elements and maintain functionality. Where possible, automated processes will be leveraged to migrate contents in bulk while preserving original relationships. However, some manual reconstruction may be unavoidable.
The successful candidate will have direct experience performing migrations between these specific platforms. They can assess the scope of work required, provide a detailed proposal and complete the migration professionally within the agreed upon timeline and budget. Project management and communication skills are essential to address any challenges and keep all stakeholders updated on progress and next steps. The end goal is a seamless transition for all users to the new collaboration environment.
