About the Project
We are producing a 4.5–5 minute emotional short film for a charity event in Sweden. The film honours a Palestinian youth football team that played in the 2024 Gothia Cup and celebrates the new team preparing to compete in 2025.
The film also serves as a tribute to Ayham Ayan (#10, 2009–2024), one of the 2024 players, who tragically passed away after returning home. His memory is central to this story.
This is not for social media—it will be shown at a live fundraising event. Emotional impact is essential, and the story must flow naturally from joyful → emotional → hopeful, with a strong narrative arc.
What We’re Looking For
I’m looking for a cinematic video editor with experience in emotional storytelling. The project is a tribute and fundraising film using real footage from Palestine and Sweden.
This is not a social media reel or TikTok edit—it’s a short cinematic film designed to move an audience deeply. Sound design, pacing, and subtitling must be handled with care.
Required Skills & Experience
•Strong storytelling instincts—you understand emotional beats and natural pacing •Must have experience with mixed-quality footage (smartphones, low-light, handheld) •Excellent sound editing skills (natural audio transitions, ambient use, music matching) •Experience editing documentary, non-profit, or tribute-style videos •Able to add subtitles, on-screen text, and handle sensitive material with respect •Understands the flow of a longer narrative format (minimum 4.5 minutes)
Bonus:
•Arabic or Swedish language skills (not required but helpful) •Motion graphics for title slides or logo at the end
Footage Summary
From 2024 – Gothia Cup in Sweden: •Arrival at Gothenburg airport – boys landing, smiling, waving •Dancing and joyful moments – celebratory and cultural expressions •Fun activities – sightseeing, laughing, bonding •Football matches – game footage, action shots, goals •Victory moments – cheering crowd, team lifting players, celebrations •Crowd reactions – fans, volunteers, emotional energy •Footage of Ayham Ayan (#10) – during matches and in celebration
From 2025 – Training in Palestine: •Group training – drills, warmups, running, stretching •Individual introductions – each of the 13 new players speaks (~50 sec each), stating name, age, position, and their excitement for Gothia Cup 2025 •Hopeful, determined tone – boys express their dreams of coming to Sweden and winning
Tribute Content: •Ayham Ayan (2009–2024) – footage of him alive and joyful during the 2024 trip •His story is a central tribute moment in the film •Symbolic elements: His name and #10 jersey to be used in a closing tribute scene
