Website, Lead Generation & Marketing Support for a One-Person B2B Consultancy
I’m looking for a smart, tech-savvy, and proactive freelancer to support a lean B2B consultancy with a mix of website updates, outbound marketing, lead generation, light advertising, basic SEO, and general admin. You’ll be helping me maintain consistency, build momentum, and – most importantly – generate quality leads in a way that feels personal and purposeful.
Why This Role Matters When I’m deep in client work, I’m fully absorbed – which is great for delivery, but it means my outbound marketing and lead generation often stall. Then, when the assignment ends, I find myself starting from scratch again. I need someone who can keep the wheels turning in the background – ensuring our outreach, visibility, and lead generation continue even when I’m focused on delivering for clients.
This role is about steady progress, not big campaigns. I want someone who understands how to keep things ticking, so we’re not always starting over.
About the Role This is a part-time, flexible role for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable working independently. It suits someone who genuinely cares about getting results, understands how to support a founder who’s often moving quickly, and wants to be a steady, practical presence behind the scenes.
Responsibilities
Website Admin & SEO Basics (WordPress)
Keep a small WordPress site updated and tidy Handle plugin updates, backups, and basic troubleshooting Apply basic SEO: page titles, meta descriptions, alt text, internal linking Ensure consistency across Google Business, LinkedIn, and other profiles
Lead Generation & Outreach
Use HubSpot to run outbound campaigns and manage contacts Source and verify leads using Apollo.io or similar Run and manage LinkedIn outreach: connection requests, follow-ups, message chains Care about the quality and relevance of leads – not just the volume
Social Media & Content Support
Create simple branded visuals using Adobe Express or Canva Schedule and post to LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter (X) Repurpose longer content into short-form posts Help keep content flowing and aligned with current themes
Small-Scale Paid Campaigns
Manage modest advertising budgets (LinkedIn and Meta) Set up and monitor boosted posts or basic campaigns Suggest practical improvements to targeting and creative
General Admin & Business Support
Handle small but important admin tasks and coordination jobs Keep outbound activity structured and consistent Be a sounding board when needed – practical support with a commercial head on Be adaptable and commercially aware – I occasionally need help with client-specific tasks (e.g. researching potential candidates using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, helping prep for meetings, or pulling together background info). These aren’t everyday jobs, but when they come up, I need someone who can take them on calmly and capably. What I’m Looking For - Someone who genuinely cares about helping generate real, quality leads - A self-starter who takes initiative and keeps things moving - Tech-savvy and confident using WordPress, HubSpot, lead tools (e.g. Apollo.io), and social platforms - Able to run simple, cost-effective paid campaigns and keep me informed - Comfortable with varied, hands-on tasks – from admin to graphics
Work Routine Of course I recognise (and welcome) people looking for flexible work, but alongside flexibly I do need someone who can support the business. I understand the usual holiday stuff and can work with that, but this is not a role for someone who completely vanishes when the kids are off school.
Language & Communication You must have a strong grasp of British English – not just in spelling, but in tone and meaning. I need someone who naturally understands what I’m getting at when I explain something, without needing every detail spelled out. Communication should be clear, professional, and responsive. I’m not looking to micromanage – I value initiative, common sense, and the ability to get on with things.
Budget & Proposal This is expected to be a part-time, ongoing role, around 4 hours per week. As the scope may flex depending on your skills and approach, I’d appreciate it if you could indicate your proposed monthly budget or hourly rate, along with a rough outline of how you would structure your time across the different areas of responsibility.
Please Note I’m only looking to work directly with individual freelancers – not agencies or teams posing as individuals. Please don’t apply if you’re part of an agency setup.
I’m also looking to work with someone genuine, experienced, and accountable – not just a profile with generic reviews and no way to verify who you are. If you apply, you must have a way to confirm your identity and your work – whether that’s a LinkedIn profile, website, portfolio, or similar. I’ll be doing my own checks, and if your profile doesn’t match a verifiable real-world presence, it won’t be considered.
