We seek a talented and innovative UK-based graphic designer to produce our 44-page monthly community magazine serving a diverse semi-rural readership. The popular publication has existed for over 20 years and features local business advertisements and articles on community events and groups, appealing to families, professionals and retirees alike. Approximately half the content is revised each month.
The successful applicant will utilize Adobe Indesign to produce a visually pleasing layout with clear textual formatting. Copy is provided by the 15th of each month for external printing by the 25th, affording the designer one week to craft a print-ready file. Collaboration will involve working closely with our advertising manager and copy editor to ensure deadlines are met and all content is professionally presented.
The ideal candidate will possess strong graphic design skills to maintain and refresh our magazine's aesthetic and engage varied demographics. Creativity, organization and punctuality are essential, as is the ability to synthesize feedback and solve problems independently. Candidates should demonstrate experience with publication design through their portfolio. We aim to attract new readership while sustaining community ties through a contemporary monthly periodical. The budget quoted is per edition. Ten monthly editions are produced each year including two editions which cover two month, July/August and December/January.
