The freelancer must demonstrate proven experience in successfully scraping large volumes of data from Rightmove and Zoopla through verifiable past work. The data to be collected includes key details such as address, list price, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, lease length, and any other relevant attributes mentioned in the advertisements.
The results must be organized neatly in a spreadsheet file with each row corresponding to one property listing extracted. Developing efficient scraping scripts/code to automate this extraction at scale from the websites is essential, while ensuring compliance with their Terms of Service. The project aims to build a comprehensive database of short-lease flats in London that can enable future analysis and business decisions. Experience with web scraping, programming, and handling large datasets is necessary to complete this ambitious technical task within a 2-week timeframe.
