We are An Nur Studios, a nonprofit game studio creating high-quality, historically accurate games that showcase Islamic history and values. We are currently developing a demo for a Crusades-era action-adventure game and need a talented freelancer to help bring our vision to life.
What We Need:
We are looking for a skilled 3D artist and/or Unreal Engine developer to assist in designing a visually stunning and immersive game demo. Your role may include: • 3D Character & Environment Art – Creating realistic, historically accurate assets for medieval cities, landscapes, and characters. • Cinematics & Cutscenes – Assisting in developing a compelling intro sequence with dynamic lighting, animations, and camera work. • Animation & Rigging – Bringing characters to life with smooth, realistic movements. • Level Design – Crafting immersive and historically inspired environments using Unreal Engine 5. • Optimization – Ensuring assets and environments run smoothly on various hardware.
Key Requirements: • Strong experience in Unreal Engine 5 and 3D modeling/texturing (Maya, Blender, or ZBrush) • Ability to create realistic, historically accurate character and environment models • Experience with game cinematics, cutscenes, and lighting is a plus • Understanding of performance optimization for real-time rendering • Experience with rigging and animation is a plus • Ability to work with a team remotely and meet deadlines
Important Notes: • No facial features should be visible on human characters (we follow specific artistic guidelines). You can creatively use hoods, masks, shadows, or camera angles to achieve this. • The game follows historical accuracy, so a research-oriented mindset is highly valued. • This is for a demo, so the focus is on quality over quantity—a polished intro scene, character showcase, and siege sequence. • We are nonprofit, so while this is a paid gig, we appreciate those passionate about educational and meaningful storytelling in gaming.
Budget & Timeline: • Budget: Open to negotiation based on experience and scope. • Timeline: Looking for a 2-3 month turnaround for the demo.
