CDM Principal Designer Assistance Required for Care Home Refurbishment
We are seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer to assist with the production of a Pre-Construction Information Pack (PCI) for a small-scale refurbishment project of a C2 care home. The project involves minor structural alterations, a loft conversion, and minor changes to the internal layout.
Project Overview:
Building: 4-bedroom care home (formerly a residential house, converted in the 90s) with 4 reception rooms. Scope: Small structural alterations, loft conversion, and internal layout modifications. Planning and Design: Building regulations and construction detail drawings have already been completed. Asbestos: Asbestos has been identified in certain areas of the building and will need to be managed in compliance with relevant health and safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing the Pre-Construction Information Pack in compliance with CDM 2015 regulations. Ensure that all health and safety considerations, including asbestos management, are addressed throughout the design process. Work with the Principal Designer (myself) to ensure all project risks, including asbestos, are identified, mitigated, and communicated. Provide guidance on risk assessments, method statements, and other documentation required for health and safety compliance. Collaborate with the design team to ensure the project complies with all relevant health and safety standards. Additional Information: This is a small-scale refurbishment of a care home originally converted from a residential house in the 1990s. The work will focus on structural alterations, including a loft conversion and minor internal layout changes to enhance the functionality of the space while maintaining its suitability for a care home environment.
While I will be fulfilling the Principal Designer role for the project, we are looking for assistance specifically in producing the Pre-Construction Information Pack and ensuring the project meets CDM 2015 requirements, including the safe management of asbestos.
