Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced WordPress Developer to finalize and optimize our delivery service website. The website is already in place, but we need your expertise to integrate essential plugins, configure functionalities, and ensure the platform is fully operational for our delivery business. Custom coding is not required unless absolutely necessary, as we aim to rely on existing plugins and tools. Integration with Shipday software is mandatory unless you can suggest a better alternative.
Responsibilities: Plugin Installation and Configuration:
Install and configure plugins for the following features: Order Placement Form: Customers should be able to input pick-up/drop-off locations, package details, and preferred delivery times. Pricing Calculator: Set up a distance-based or flat-rate pricing system using Google Maps API. Driver Management: Integrate with Shipday software to manage drivers, track deliveries, and streamline dispatch operations. Real-Time Tracking: Enable live tracking of orders for customers using Shipday or a comparable tool. Payment Gateway: Configure Stripe and PayPal for secure payment processing. Email and SMS Notifications: Automate updates for order confirmations, dispatch notifications, and delivery completions. Shipday Software Integration:
Set up seamless integration between the WordPress website and Shipday to handle: Order management. Driver assignment and tracking. Customer tracking links for real-time delivery updates. Provide suggestions for optimizing Shipday’s functionality, or recommend a superior alternative if available. Custom Functionality (Only If Necessary):
Avoid custom coding unless required to ensure plugin compatibility or extend functionality. Focus on configuring existing tools and plugins to achieve project goals. UI/UX Enhancements:
Optimize the order form layout for user-friendliness on both mobile and desktop. Ensure the website is fully responsive and visually appealing. Testing and Debugging:
Test the full order workflow, from placement to driver assignment and delivery completion. Resolve any issues related to plugin conflicts, API integrations, or performance. Documentation and Handover:
Provide clear documentation on managing the website, plugins, and workflows. Offer a brief tutorial on how to update and maintain the website. Required Skills: Proven experience with WordPress development and plugin configuration. Expertise in: WooCommerce for e-commerce functionality. WooCommerce Bookings or Orderable for scheduling deliveries. Distance Rate Shipping or similar plugins for pricing calculations. Shipday integration or equivalent delivery management tools. Familiarity with Google Maps API for distance-based pricing and tracking. Knowledge of payment gateway setup (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). Strong understanding of responsive design and UI/UX principles. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with additional delivery-specific plugins like Onfleet or TrackShip. Experience configuring SMS notification tools like Twilio. Ability to suggest and integrate third-party tools for enhanced functionality. Deliverables: Fully configured and operational delivery service website. Seamless integration with Shipday software for order management and tracking. Clear documentation for website management and updates.
