Sheldon Peever Studio is seeking a qualified Architect for freelance work on an ingoing basis. Sheldon Peever Studio, based in St Albans, UK have an exciting opportunity for an Architect, proficient in Vectorworks and with experience in a range of sectors, particularly in high end private residential. Small scale commercial works would be good but not essential.
Candidates are to have appropriate PI insurance in place as required by the UK’s ARB regulations.
The work commitment will be based on a per project basic. Key responsibilities: • Lead a design team and manage the delivery of projects from RIBA work stages 1-4 would be ideal but not essential. • Capable of managing multiple projects at different RIBA work stages. • Working directly with other consultants is essential and working with clients would be good but not essential.
Skills and experience required: • A fully qualified architect (ARB or equivalent registered) with at least five years’ post-UK Part 3 (or equivalent) experience is ideal but not essential. • Able to demonstrate exceptional understanding and knowledge of technical and building regulations of UK construction knowledge in the private residential sector. • Able to demonstrate knowledge of the UK planning system and policy would be ideal but not essential. • Good communication skills with fluent written and spoken English. • Understand the Principal Designer role and responsibilities. • Able to write specifications notes. • Experience of Adobe, 3D modelling software would be an advantage
Hourly rate subject to level of experience.
