Project Overview
We are looking for an experienced Shopify developer and designer to support our e-commerce website. This is a long-term collaboration for someone who can handle ongoing updates, design changes, feature implementations, and technical troubleshooting. While the site is currently built using GemPages, we are open to exploring more efficient solutions if suggested. However, any new implementations must allow us to continue making updates through GemPages or another equally user-friendly tool.

We run a Shopify store featuring customizable products with a focus on user-friendly design and seamless functionality. We aim to improve user experience, increase conversions, and expand functionality while maintaining a sleek, professional look.
Scope of Work
The freelancer will work on: 1. Design Updates • Creating and implementing new page layouts and sections. • Updating visual assets such as banners, product images, and buttons. • Ensuring designs are responsive and mobile-friendly. 2. Feature Enhancements • Adding new features or functionalities (e.g., product bundling, internationalization). • Ensuring smooth integration with third-party apps and plugins. 3. Technical Support • Fixing bugs and resolving technical issues (e.g., loading speeds, checkout problems). • Troubleshooting conflicts between apps and features. 4. Ongoing Maintenance • Regular performance reviews to improve speed and UX. • Optimizing for SEO and conversion rates. • Keeping Shopify apps, themes, and features updated.
Requirements
1. Technical Skills • Proficiency in Shopify theme customization and Liquid coding. • Experience with drag-and-drop builders like GemPages or willingness to work with it. • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. • Familiarity with Shopify APIs and third-party app integrations. 2. Experience • Proven experience designing and maintaining Shopify stores. • Portfolio of Shopify projects, ideally including customizable product solutions or internationalized content. 3. Communication • Fluent in English for clear communication. • Responsive and proactive in providing updates. 4. Long-Term Collaboration • Willingness to work on an ongoing basis for regular updates and larger projects. • Availability for occasional urgent requests. 5. Flexibility with Tools • Open to proposing better solutions for building and maintaining the site. • All designs and implementations must remain editable by us using GemPages or an equally accessible tool.
Deliverables
1. Fully functional pages and features implemented based on briefs. 2. Well-documented changes to ensure future scalability. 3. High-quality, bug-free design and code.
Initial Test Project
To evaluate the candidate, we will start with a small paid task: • Updating a specific product page to implement a bundling solution (e.g., breaking variants into separate products while maintaining a clear design). • Optimizing load speed for a specific page.
