Purpose: Guidebook to help aspiring entrepreneurs who have never owned a business to search, analyze, acquire, and launch a franchise. As they complete each chapter of the book while analyzing Franchises, they get one step closer to Launching (last chapter of guide) their new local franchise business. Needs to give a "Step-by-Step" process like one of the "Dummies" type books, and I have NOT been so good at structuring it that way.
I have written 40,000 words in Word. Ideally this book will be filled with images, illustrations, forms, and checklists as much as words. Not just boring text! My reader won't read text. I'm fine if we edit my word count way down if it accomplishes the goal. I'm not stuck on what I wrote, but I want excellence. The idea is they actually USE the book to complete tasks that get them to the end goal of Launching their own franchise business!
These are a wide variety of franchise businesses; hair salons like Supercuts®, tutoring services like Kumon® Math & Reading, plumbing companies like Mr. Rooter®, even pet franchises like Wag N' Wash® and DoodyCalls®. Any aspiring entrepreneur with no experience can run these businesses with the help of the franchisors, IF they choose the right one....that's where my help comes in. I help them find the right franchise for a fee the franchise company pays me for giving them great leads.
My vision is this book is an 8.5"x 11" guidebook that walks the reader step-by-step (≈10 steps) through.... 1. Self-awareness to know what they want and can afford 2. Search for the best-fit franchise for them (using my services, of course...and why that's best) 3. Properly evaluating franchise(s) to make wise and safe investments Etc, etc, etc.....

Scope: 1. Concept, design, organization, and structure of the book. 2. With my support adding Glossary of Terms (to get the page count up)? 3. Copyediting -- rewriting, grammar, style. flow 4. Writing -- adding depth or color throughout. Can you help with stories? 5, Summaries -- summarizing each chapter for the reader 6. Interior Design: Breakouts, boxes (Pro-Tips, Danger Red Flags): finding ways to call out important parts of text, and keep book from being too boring; Worksheets, lists, checklists, and exercises -- practical items to keep reader engaged; Charts, graphs, illustrations.....This is VERY important to me. **Similar to the "Dummies" books. 7. Need ways to point reader to my online resources too. 8. Layout of book in Indesign. Includes all front matter, TOC and body copy. 9. Cover design. 4 color. I have concept idea. Needs illustration. Open to freelancer’s ideas 10. ISBN number added -- (I will pay for this outside of your work) 11. Any images or illustrations created; I need ALL source files (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) 12. Page count somewhere 170 - 220. 12. Delivery of finished pdfs for use by printer.
