I am about to purchase a business. This business has a static website currently and takes orders over the phone. I would like to develop a completely new ecommerce platform. I am agnositc on the solution but I think Word press and woocommerce would fit my requirements. As a summary what I would like the solution to do is:
Be fast and easy to use. Be easy to find the product (less than 10 initially). Once the product is chosen display the pricing (pricing calculated depends on quantity, location which drives delivery costs and tax). Be able to process the order confirmation and payment online. The client receives an order confirmation and invoice. In the back-end I can collect the orders and onward send them to my supplier.
Also what is of critical importance is that the current website has achieved excellent SEO. So in the migration it is critical that the content and URL's of the existing site are migrated and does not negatively impact any of the SEO and organic rankings. i do not have any requirement to connect to third party ecommerce (amazon, ebay, etc) this is purely turning the website into a robust, simple and powerful online shop.
