Expected duration: 1 - 2 weeks I am a high school student and I'm working on a personal app project. I am reaching out because I am hoping to speed up the process and get it done within 1-2 weeks!
My general idea is this: I would like to create a posture detecting app that detects when a sitting person has bad posture, and automatically records the time duration as well as video of these bad-posture sessions for users to later reference. At points with extremely bad postures, the app also alerts them with a blinking/flashing color screen. The app would ideally also have a statistics view where users can see how long they usually spend in bad posture, the percentage of bad posture out of total sitting time, and how their posture improved over weeks/months.
I did some research and I found an AI model that I’m hoping to incorporate into the app to detect bad posture. It is a Google teachable machine model (https://teachablemachine.withgoogle.com/ ; the model for poses)) and it is said to work with CoreML for xcode. I tried training one really quickly and here are the .json files for reference: https://teachablemachine.withgoogle.com/models/jacbp2a/. If you have time, it would be very helpful if you could take a look at that. One of the main things I am concerned about right now is adding the model into the app. It’d also be great if you could explain the source code behind it, I hope to be able to understand it and maybe tinker with it so it adapts well into this project.
My main aim is to have a functioning prototype as quickly as possible (have at least general framework by next Wednesday) as well as have the coding be as simple and intuitive as possible, as I will have to relay some of the information to other high school students.
I would like to learn most/all of the steps along the way, so it would be great if you could give me daily required readings/work, and, if your schedule allows, work together maybe everyday/every other day from where I was able to get to on my own after our last session.
I was wondering if all of this sounds like something you could help me with? If yes, how long do you estimate it would it take? Please let me know, and I would like to get on to it right away! I am available anytime after 3:30pm on weekdays and flexible on weekends.
My background: I have taken the AP Computer Science course and exam, so I know some Java, and also an intermediate level of python. I’ve also taken a few AI and ML courses online, and have written simple models a few years ago in python. However, I don’t have much knowledge about swift/swiftUI/git/xcode, just the basics.
