Problem Description: At the point of sale, customers have no way of identifying which size of face mask suits their face shape and size. While dimensions are given on the mask packs, it's difficult for a person to measure his own face dimensions (especially in a retail environment). The proposed solution is to have a QR code on the packaging of the face mask, which when scanned, takes the customer to a custom web based app that uses the smartphone front camera to gauge the person's face shape/size and suggest the best fit of mask from 3 sizes (small, medium, large).
The app should also record the dimensions measured and create a database of people's face sizes. This would enable us to make tweaks in the product size to better suit customers.
The app would need to be accurate in terms of capturing face size and should work with a wide variety of devices - Apple and Android based. It should also overcome challenges such as ranging, camera resolution etc. The app has to abide by all Indian rules with respect to data privacy and should ask customers for permission to use their data for ongoing product improvements.
Deliverables would include the custom app developed (website hosting would be done by us), plugging in the collected data into our database (liasoning with our IT team) and providing us sole access to the data.
